Kaun received the bronze medal in the women’s high leap in the 1936 Olympic video games in Berlin, Germany. Furthermore, Elfriede not merely competed for the German sports activities club Kieler Television, but also was the German champ high jumper from 1935 to 1937 and a runner-up in the years 1934 and 1939. Furthermore, Kaun set a fresh indoor globe record in the high leap in 1937. Elfriede continued to serve as a committee person in the Association of Past Sports athletes from 1977 to 1990. Kaun passed away at age group 93 on March 5, 2008.
