Writer/movie director Fred Dekker was created on Apr 9, 1959 in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, California. A devoted comic book enthusiast, monster film buff, and film nerd from an early on age group, Dekker was turned down by both USC and UCLA film institutions. He finished up participating in UCLA as an British major rather. His fellow UCLA classmates included potential screenwriters Shane Dark (who collaborated with Dekker in the script for “The Monster Squad”), Ed Solomon, and Chris Matheson. Among Dekker’s early tasks in Hollywood was a 3-D “Godzilla” picture that unfortunately hardly ever panned out. Fred’s initial film credit was composing the storyplot for the amusing horror humor “Home.” He produced his appealing debut as article writer/director using the excellent “Nights the Creeps,” which paid affectionate homage towards the blithely foolish low-budget horror flicks he was raised loving as a youngster. He implemented this great feature using the similarly wonderful tongue-in-cheek pastiche “The Monster Squad.” Alas, both films received mixed testimonials in the critics and flopped on the container office, but possess fortunately gone to acquire large cult followings. Dekker composed five episodes from the hugely enjoyable cable television horror anthology series “Stories in the Crypt”: “Divide Character,” “And DURING the home,” “Decrease Berth,” “Just Sin Deep,” and “FINISHED . In the Grave” (Fred aimed this episode aswell). He composed the tales for the interesting revenge thriller “Ricochet” as well as the failed spy spoof “If Appears Could Wipe out.” Recently Fred Dekker composed several shows of and offered as a talking to producer in the research fiction Television show “Organization.”
