Lenny Abrahamson was created in Dublin in 1966. He researched physics and idea at Trinity University Dublin. While at college or university he directed brief videos using the Trinity Video Culture, which he co-founded with Ed Guiney. He graduated in 1991 with high grade honours (yellow metal medal). His initial brief film, 3 Joes, earned the Best Western european Brief Film Prize on the 1991 Cork Film Celebration as well as the Organiser’s Prize on the 1992 Oberhausen Brief Film Celebration. He directed many commercials for tv in Ireland, the united kingdom and world-wide before acquiring the helm on his first feature film, Adam & Paul, a stylized downbeat humor written by Tag O’Halloran and released in 2004. Adam and Paul earned the very best First Feature prize on the 2004 Galway Film Fleadh as well as the Grand Prix on the 2005 Sofia International Film Celebration. His second feature film, Garage area, another cooperation with writer Tag O’ Halloran, was chosen for Director’s Fortnight on the 2007 Cannes Film Celebration and earned the CICAE Artwork and Essai award.
